In Memory of two Operation Beaver volunteers

Dennis Inglangasuk with VEA members Macario Liuca and Humberto Chalco in front of the Cathedral in Cuzco, Peru. We will plant two trees at Project Amik Plaza in memory of two past aboriginal Operation Beaver volunteers. James Jacobs-Buchanan, an Ojibwa from Sudbury, Ontario, and Dennis Inglangasuk, an Inuit from Aklavik, Northwest Territories. James volunteered at Fort Good Hope, N.W.T. in 1994.

The Mayor and Members of Toronto City Hall were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of James on February 17, 2004 and expressed their sincere sympathy to members of his family and to members of the homeless community through the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee. In 1988, Dennis worked with VEA in Bolivia for six months building school desks for rural children on the Bolivian highlands. Dennis passed away last February 29 on his way to his beloved Aklavik; he was born on May 15, 1957. His Inuvialuit name was Anaqtuuq.
