2004 Christmas Appeal

Priscilla's house during construction For the last several years, Operation Beaver has meant lots of good news for Jellicoe, Ontario. Pictured are "before" and after" photos of Priscilla Graham's dramatically renovated home, shared with sons Bryan and Robert Duchene. Grandpa Pat Graham, and Beaver volunteer Sven Theuns of Belgium together put 480 hours to complete this job well done ($12,433.64) last winter, one of fifty-one Operation Beaver homes completed in northern Ontario in 2004. Encouraging contacts with Manitoba and Quebec provincial governments, plus a personal Ottawa meeting with Honourable Joseph Fontana, federal Minister of Labour and Housing have given us reasonable grounds for hope that our million-dollar contract with Queens Park can be replicated in other provinces and Territories.

Priscilla's finished house Meanwhile our educational project activity in the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut continues to grow, helping many hundreds of Inuit and Dene children to remain in and/or return to school.

We are still in the hole for Amik I, and just barely making it on Operation Beaver. Your gift, designated for either, or undesignated, will be as faithfully applied as it will be gratefully received. It will also be specially noted and appreciated as we celebrate Operation Beaver's Fortieth Year, and the nomination of our President Lawrence Gladue as Canada's first aboriginal Governor-General.
