Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) President Karen Kinsley presented a Best Practices in Affordable Housing Award to Frontiers Foundation Executive Director Marco A. Guzman in Ottawa on October 22, 2004. The award is for the Foundation's Project Amik, an old factory on Coxwell Avenue in Toronto that was converted into 75 geared to income apartments. The facility houses half Aboriginal people, has 14 units for people with physical disabilities and also contains a francophone daycare, plus a community events room.
